Hikes over vast glaciers are always impressive. You move in a rope team, just like a pro, with crampons on your hiking boots, and can even get to the top of small peaks. To keep the thrills coming, you can abseil away from your colleagues into the crevasse of a glacier and see the blue ice shimmering in the depths!
Details
Your mountain guide meets you at the hotel. After a warm welcome, the equipment for the day's tour is handed out. Kitted out well with crampons and climbing harness, nothing else stands in the way of an exciting day on the mountain!
A small shuttle takes you from the hotel to the mountain. We are happy to arrange high-capacity taxis or buses, depending on the size of your group.
The mountain railway takes you towards the glacier, so it's not too far to the mountain!
Once you have arrived, it's usually a short hike to the glacier.
Vast glacial surfaces stretch out imposingly, almost allowing you to forget that in many regions the ice is melting considerably at present.
Once you have arrived at a good standpoint, your mountain guide shows you how to put on the climbing harness properly and the correct way to fasten a climbing boot.
The group is now split into individual rope teams and joined together with a rope.
And now you are good to go: over vast ice-covered surfaces, maybe even as far as a small mountain peak. In any case, the panorama is magnificent!
As a minor highlight and to keep the thrills coming, the "members of the expedition" can abseil into the crevasse of a glacier. The depth of these crevasses and the blue shimmering ice are truly fascinating. And who can claim they've already "clambered" out of a crevasse!
